Net Big Stakes Poker- Who is Gus Hansen?

Gus Hansen enjoyed a wonderful year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only one to achieve final game in three of the events. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he paid $400, 000 to play. You might recall one of the biggest pots in big stakes poker recorded history up against Daniel Negreanu. Gus secured a huge pot with quads against Negreanu’s full house. Gus has made many tv poker appearances and is considered to be one of the strongest players around the world. While playing net poker, a different side of Hansen has been seen. Gus frequently participates in the 200/400 No Limit max buy in of Forty Thousand dollars. Hansen usually buys in for the minimum of Sixteen Thousand dollars and plays very weak. He waits patiently for a good hand and then goes all in. I accept that Gus is a great poker player but certainly not even close to the everyday players at 200/400no limit. Unless Gus is penniless, he has no reason to sit at the game with the min buy in.

Playing for the min takes most of the ability out of big stack poker. Gus is supposed to be 1 of the greatest players anywhere in the world but he can’t buy-in for the full dollar value. I think tv can alter our view of the real world sometimes. The best players anywhere in the world might just be players you have never heard of. Gus can be seen gambling on internet poker on Full Tilt. He usually competes in high stakes omaha high and hold’em. Gus Hansen has proven himself as a tournament player. Can he use his talents in cash games?
