Online poker has become world acclaimed lately, with televised competitions and celebrity poker game events. Its popularity, though, stretches back in fact a bit further than its TV ratings. Over the years several types on the first poker game have been created, including some games that are not quite poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of the above-mentioned games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely resembling vingt-et-un than traditional poker, in that the gamblers bet against the casino instead of each other. The succeeding hands, are the established poker hands. There is little concealment or different types of bamboozlement. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to pay up prior to the croupier announcing "No more wagers." At that moment, both you and the dealer and of course all of the different gamblers are given five cards each. Once you have looked at your hand and the dealer’s first card, you need to in turn make a call wager or surrender. The call wager’s amount is equal to your beginning bet, indicating that the risks will have increased two fold. Surrendering means that your ante goes directly to the house. After the wager comes the showdown. If the dealer does not have ace/king or greater, your wager is given back, with a figure equal to the original bet. If the bank does have ace/king or greater, you succeed if your hand beats the bank’s hand. The house pays out cash even with your wager and fixed expectations on your call wager. These odds are:

  • Even for a pair or high card
  • 2-1 for two pairs
  • three to one for three of a kind
  • 4-1 for a straight
  • 5-1 for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • 20-1 for a 4 of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • one hundred to one for a royal flush
